It was a very VERY long night for Tama and Karlo. Tama checked into the hospital yesterday, June 4th at 6:00 a.m. and they got her started with some pitocin. The day wore on and things progressed very slowly....
As the night wore on, they upped her dosage of pitocin to try to speed things along a bit. Still, things moved very slowly.
Finally, at 3:50 a.m. JUNE 5th..... with the help of mommy, daddy, dr., nurses, and a cool little vacuum thingy, KELTON EVAN STUCKI joined our family!!
This was Tama's first experience with an epidural and I think she is in love with the anesthesiologist! She loved it! She did an excellent job of pushing and Karlo did an excellent job of coaching and supporting!
Kelton weighed in at a hefty 8 pounds 7 ounces and stretched out to 21 3/4 inches long! I think he's a little too big to throw back so we'd better keep him!
He has quite a bit of hair (reddish!) for one of our grandkids. His fingernails need cut already and he tries to suck on his fingers and thumb every chance he gets. I'm sure he will be a thumb sucker like his big sisters!
Speaking of his big sisters, they couldn't be more excited! It was like Christmas at our house. They both stayed up until after midnight with excitement and waiting to hear of his arrival, then at 6:47 a.m. I awoke to Kallie telling me "Dwama, it's morning time...is baby brother bornded yet?"
We told them that he had made his arrival and told them that Mommy and Daddy had named him Kelton Evan Stucki. Abbie (obviously still stuck on naming him Kooper) said, "Well, at LEAST they got the Stucki part right." HAHA! But, once they saw him, they both agree that his name is perfect. We got up, had some breakfast and got ready for the day and headed for the hospital.
The girls were so excited and loved on Kelton. They took turns looking at him, holding him, kissing him, tickling his feet, rubbing his head, and letting him grasp their fingers. They are certainly smitten and over their heels in love with him!
We are home now, planning one more sleep over with Grandma and Papa , church tomorrow and having a much needed rest before we go back and say goodnight to Kelton this evening.
We are so thrilled to have Kelton join our eternal family and thankful to our Heavenly Father for the blessing of this new little spirit in our family!
Until next time.....
